Solid rollers usually need the bronze gear. I have had some wear on race engines with the bronze gear. I don't know how that would work out on a street engine.

A Cardone reman distributor is about 70 bucks part number 30-2892. Gear is part number 435M. Don't drive the car until you get this corrected.
