No matter how cautious I may be I always seem to scuff the Sharkhide off which allows the aluminum to tarnish. My question is will Alumetron bond better to the aluminum finish of the pontoon? Webb22 dec. 2016 · I love sharkhide on mine, did mine myself when I bought the boat and before in went in the water. Toons still look brand new today. Yes it can scratch but a little sharkhide on a rag and reapply in that area before it oxidizes, whala, good as new. I also do not leave mine in the water full time, it mostly sits on a trailer. Webb30 apr. 2012 · The outside pontoons are done, took about 4 hours to do the outside and top of each nosecone. Both of them have 2 coats of Sharkhide. I will start the insides of the outer and center nosecone tomorrow and then try to get the transom and rear caps done on Weds. Then afterwards, everything gets the final 3rd coat of Sharkhide.
